Ed Schultz in Columbus

On October 28, 2005 By

Big Ed will be broadcasting live from Columbus, Ohio at the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union # 189. Guests are General Wesley Clark, Major Paul Hackett, and from a PR I got Mayor Mike Coleman. I don’t see Mike on the Schultz site, but maybe he will in fact be there…they added him!

I will try to get down and give some updates…if you can make it love to see you give Ed some support. He’s a fresh voice and deserves our support. If you can’t, you can tune in on 1230AM or try the streaming audio.

Tim Ryan Sticks with Hackett

On October 28, 2005 By

(hat tip to Tim at Democracy Guy) Tim Ryan’s endorsement of Hackett holds, despite being a close friend of Sherrod Brown. Ryan was one who encouraged Paul to run. Russo has the jist of it:

Ryan, who represents most of Mahoning and Trumbull counties, is keeping his word and supporting Hackett – who he calls “a hell of a candidate” – despite his close friendship with Brown. Ryan said his conversation with Brown about supporting Hackett wasn’t terribly pleasant, and he’s in a “sticky” situation…”We needed a good candidate, and we found a really good candidate,” Ryan said of [...]

Latest Reform Ohio Now Ad

On October 27, 2005 By

Here is the latest Reform Ohio Now ad:

Most people I have seen blog on this agree it is one of the most effective. Put out by a group called Citizens to End Corruption – a group that smartly and hilariously registered “ohiofirst.org” (Ohio First is the group opposing RON). The ad even looks a bit like the first Ohio First spot.

Folks, this is the final push on State Issues 2, 3, 4, and 5. The opposition has been running ads, spewing inacurrate talking points, and putting up yard signs.

The time is NOW for YOU to get involved. We need help in Delaware County. Please see this post and contact me if you can help!

Tim over at Grow Ohio has a post about new polling that is interesting. We are behind on issues 4 and 5, BUT he says:

The good news on State Issue Four specifically, is that citizens who have [...]

Harriet Miers: It Never Was

On October 27, 2005 By

I have felt for some time that Harriet was not the real nominee, but even nuttier than that is the timing. Bush’s “reluctant acceptance” of her withdrawal comes just before this:

“BREAKING NEWS: Special prosecutor is focusing on whether presidential adviser Karl Rove committed perjury in CIA leak probe, sources tell CNN.”

So the nominee was a plant. She gets ripped by the Neocons, ripped by the libs, and pulled just before the indictments come down. Hmmm.

Well, the wind will not be taken out of the Plamegate story. But the nominee that will be up to bat next you [...]

Ohio GOP Lawn Decorations

On October 26, 2005 By

Today an alert Delaware activist spotted an anti-RON yard sign (thanks K). First I have seen and surely not the last as it seems the Ohio GOP has gotten into the yard sign business. Sign at the bottom right says “Paid for by the Ohio Republican Party www.ohiogop.org”. I’m not sure how these are getting out, but I have seen no evidence of a coordinated campaign or canvassing.

Update: RON signs “disappearing” in Delaware.
