HB3 Update – Passes Along Party Lines
As expected the Voter Suppression Bill (House Bill 3) passed largely along party lines, with Republican Tim Grendell the only person to swap sides. 22-11, with all Dems voting against it. ONN reports some against the measure wore orange sashes, but were ordered to turn them around. Enthusiastic applause was also gaveled down and expulsion threatened for those who would dare involve themselves in the political process. Good for them. This will be interesting to see how things play out at the county level and what affect this will have on elections.
Concessions, er, um, changes in the bill are outlined here.
