Running Away from the President
from the Dispatch:
“I don’t think we should have gone in at all,” the retired mental-health therapist said. “Iraq was not bothering us. I just don’t see any reason for it, and we’ve lost more than (2,000) men and women.”
Although she is a registered Republican and once headed the largest GOP woman’s club in New Hampshire, she is taking out her anger on President Bush.
“I think he’s inept. … He’s mishandled everything he’s touched,” she said.
Emphasis mine. So no wonder high profile Republicans won’t go near Bush. The guy has become more than toxic, he has become a noose around the neck of the ORP. Expect to see more and more distancing from “W” as sure as we are likely to see folks finally peel off those bumper stickers in shame.
Bush has lost a full third of the Ohio Rs and this is holding true in other parts of the country as well. The goal here should be to make Bush’s failures the failure of every Republican who ever shook his hand, uttered his name, or stood on stage with him. No way they weasel out of it now that the well has run dry. Stand by your dried up hero Republican candidate! Tell us why this is all just a big misunderestimation!
Note: Given the polling, there appear to be 40-50% of Ohio who appear to be at or near brain dead.
