Shamansky: Not A Nostalgia Trip

(via DDN):

When Bob Shamansky left Congress in 1983, Ronald Reagan was in his first-term as president, the Internet was in its infancy and rotary-dial phones were commonplace.

But Shamansky, who turns 79 in April, hopes voters this year will both endorse his message of experience and consider him a change from the status quo choosing him first in the May 2 primary, then again in November over Rep. Pat Tiberi, R-Columbus.

He said concerns about the new Medicare Part D program, as well as his dislike of President Bush’s performance, motivated him to run.

I don’t agree at all with Nathan Gonzalez of the Rothenburg Report that Bob’s prior service could be a detriment. I feel people are fed up with THIS Congress…not Congress in general.
