Draft Paul Hackett Trust Formed

from OpEdNews:

CINCINNATI – Friday, April 21, 2006, supporters of former US Senate candidate Major Paul Hackett, without fanfare have launched a draft committee and accompanying website to finish the work they started in the State of Ohio. “Paul was a catalyst for organizing in Ohio. The Democratic Party leadership is rolling the dice with Sherrod Brown, taking Independent, Republican, & Democratic Hackett supporters for granted,” said Howard Konicov former Hackett Field Manager. “We have a responsibility to live up to the aspirations that resonated with Paul in Ohio.

P.S. Love your work Roldo. You are a legend.
  • BetsyMcCall
Roldo is right, Hackett is beginning to look like just another political opportunist. He doesn't seem to be contributing anything of worth here.
  • Eric
Ease up Roldo. Hackett had nothing to do with the draft thing. He has said time and again that he's not running for anything. You should probably holster the sore loser comment as well. We all know what happened and to claim he is a sore loser is assinine. Now...had he acted out after losing a legitimate primary...you'd have an argument.

Dems need to stand up for a process that is fair and equitable and represents the people in Ohio. What happened to Paul Hackett is counter to that and we should all be outraged and continue to call bullshit on it. I know I am.

I'm tempted to go all Russell on you...but I won't.

    Happy Earth Day!

    Eric: Yes, I meant Karl.

The point being that any injection of Hackett in the Brown-DeWine contest simply helps DeWine.

The Dems need all the help they can get to win back the Senate and a win in Ohio remains a possibility.

Rove may have had nothing to do with the draft movement for Hackett but he might as well have since it has all the earmarks of his Machiavellian strategies.

Hackett, no matter how enticing he might have been as a candidate, should get off his ego binge and now act responsibly. Sore loser isn't a worthy foundation for a political career.
  • I think people want to have hope that even though they know he's said he's not interested that there is still a chance.

It's hard to let go of a candidate that makes you feel the way that Paul Hackett made some of us, myself included feel.
  • Eric
You mean Karl?...and what's the point?
  • Roldo Bartimole
Sounds as if Carl Rove has already started his work on the 2006 congressional races for the Republicans. And why not in Ohio.

Wonder how many dupes he can pick up and mislead.
  • Eric
    apparently 687...
  • How many times does he have to say no before people believe him?
  • Eric
I don't think he can...nor wants to. Maybe I'll ask him if I can get him on the podcast next week.
  • How can Paul run for federal office this cycle except as an independent?
