An Inconvenient Truth (video)

The new documentary on global warming and Al Gore’s one man campaign to end it comes out May 24th. This is something that we all can do for Earth Day: Go see this movie then commit to doing your part whatever it is. Visit www.climatecrisis.net and see what your impact is and learn how to lessen or eliminate it either through action or supporting offsetting renewable projects. The time is now. It might also be a fun thing to do to get bloggers together for an opening day viewing. Comment if you are interested.

Note: I heard Al speak on this the other day on the radio and he is on the right track with his “this is not political, but moral”. Precisely right. This is the way to frame it, and like in my Earth Day rant on PB Podcast #2, I welcome any and all to join me in this. Republican, Evangelical Christians, Aliens (legal or illegal), even Garth Brooks fans. I’ll stoop that low.

Plunderchat:

I watched the preview last night–it certainly is powerful.

And then I saw that Bush’s response to the high gas prices is to “ease EPA rules”. Hmmm–how can I address this problem in a way that *doesn’t* really address the problem, but is good for my friends.

I don’t believe in Hell, at least in the traditional sense, but Bush makes me wish I did.

Eric, good call on inviting evangelicals to this discussion. I watched an interview on CNN about a month ago with a couple of evangelicals who each said it was time to steward the earth.

the more the merrier. Heck, if the SBC would come on board, that’s how many people to leverage in ways small and large? Millions.
