I skipped last night’s debate, figuring the race is over and there there was no way this debate could be in the least bit consequential.

Boy, was I wrong.

I think I can hear Blackwell’s poll numbers dropping!

Lula Smith, 66, of the East Side, said, “I had a lot of respect for Blackwell when I came in, but I don’t now. I never saw this side of him.”

Just hearing him say North American Man/Boy Love Association was priceless, worth sitting through the whole stupid campaign.

Seems like some are more concerned about how Blackwell looks for bringing it up than on the actual character of a man who couldn’t bring himself to vote against the resolution. The lib response has been priceless. Can’t imagine the supreme fortitude it took to take such a difficlt stand. What will Ohio get if Strickland wins? It is becoming clear…. and the picture ain’t pretty.

Had I been in Congress, I would have voted “Present” as well. That resolution is the best example of government waste I can think of - a non-binding resolution to express the sentiments of the House on an area they really have no business speaking on. That resolution served no purpose other than politics, and it’s a waste of taxpayer money.

Not only do I not want my legislature making political statements about the results of scientific study, Strickland is right that there is nothing wrong with saying that the victims of childhood sexual abuse can grow up and lead completely normal lives. I have friends who have done so.

But, as seems to be usual, the only angle the right has is to imply that life under Democrats will be some kind of post-apocalypic wasteland destroyed by terrorist attacks where gangs of violent sex offenders run free raping little kids.
