OK, so you may have already seen this, but just in case you didn’t, this is a side-splittingly funny segment from Monday’s Colbert Report interviewing Zack Space.

Of course, RABid make some sort of bizarre claim that Space is some kind of “Commie in sheep’s clothing” who is hiding his true views in order to placate his constituents. The implication, of course, is that he’s lying about his pro-gun position.

There are really only two plausible explanations as to why Matty might think this. The first, of course, is that he didn’t understand Colbert’s joke. (Yes, the idea that in order to be a Democrat you must wish to have every gun in the US melted for scrap is a joke.) Alternatively, Matty got the joke, but instead wishes to intentionally spread disinformation about liberal positions. Like Jerid pointed out over at BSB,

Here’s a newsflash to Matty. Despite the fact that the NRA is stacked with GOP loyalists, Republicans aren’t the only ones that support 2nd amendment rights. It’s in the Constitution afterall…Democrats are definitely pro-constitution…unlike some people. Preserve and protect, buddy.

I’ve sat face to face with Space, and he’ll look you square in the eye and tell you what he thinks. I know, it’s a tough call, but I think I know which explanation for Matty’s behavior is the correct one. Do you?
