Plus sessile animals! Those of us paying attention know that these species are extremely sensitive to environmental changes, and that even a minor rise in water temperature – a degree or two – would spell disaster, and could result in mass extinctions. and it?looks like the christian right may have finally found a candidate conservative enough for their tastes.
My prediction:? Immediately after getting out of rehab, Tim Hardaway will be flying to Dallas to meet (and pray) with Evangelical Kook James Dobson to discuss his campaign strategy.?
They’ll probably?start with a grass-roots type thing… maybe a DRAFT HARDAWAY website and some bumper stickers with clever slogans like “screw the queers- hardaway’s here!”?and “ask me about my homophobia”.
Full Story... →Joel Surnow is the man behind FOX’s popular action drama, 24. Personally, I like 24. Despite the show getting increasingly insane, I find it enjoyable. Jack Bauer does, in fact, kick ass. But I also recognize it’s fiction. Torture works on 24, every time, but – perhaps because I’m a member of the reality-based community – I know that torture does not work in real life.

Those tax breaks ran out last year- and this year Chrysler is closing the distribution center.
Man, I would be PISSED if I was Streetsboro.

Full Story... →Just finished watching the documentary Why We Fight. I’m a little late to the game, but what a fantastic documentary. It avoids cheap emotional tricks, and does a tremendous job of laying out the evidence supporting Dwight Eisenhower’s statement about the dangers of the military-industrial complex. Followed it up with the good – but not quite as great – film Iraq For Sale: The War Profiteers, explaining who is making money off of the Iraq War, and at whose expense.
