Figured you'd go there. What about Evangelicals? Wapo: "In October 2004 the leadership of the NAE, which says it has 30 million members and is the nation's largest evangelical organization, declared that mankind has "a sacred responsibility to steward the Earth and not a license to abuse the creation of which we are a part."

Hell even the dope smoking gay lover Haggard claimed the environment "a values issue".

Of course there is internal struggle - it is inherent in trying to mix the teachings of Jesus to the values of the conservative movement and Republican Party.

What DDT has to do with climate change I have no clue, but I can point you to some good scams going on if you care to look - you probably won't want to though because it ain't pretty.

It is too bad NAE cut and run last year - probably under enormous pressure from The White House and Republican leadership. It is a tit for tat game afterall...think of the wave had they took a principled stand. You think last November was ugly!?

You still have 86 Evangelical leaders who have signed on, including the purpose driven Rick Warren, 39 evangelical colleges, the Salvation Army, and I can't imagine they'll all wake up and realize their thinking is "globaloney".

You obviously don't understand the term stewardship if you claim saving human lives is the primary concern for us existing on the planet. What you are talking about is dominion.

I see your PC-USA (that would be the denomination whose numbers have dropped by about half in the past 40 years, and is almost as insufferably politically correct as the Episcopals, whose members are also heading for the exits), and raise you an Australian archbishop -- at a post scheduled in the morning.

Globaloney is a monstrous scam, and the poor stewardship argument is as weak as they come, brought to us by the same people who think banning DDT was good stewardship. It presupposes that good stewardship isn't already being practiced, which is .... baloney.

Widespread use of DDT for the past 30 or so years to save 40-50 million lives would been better "stewardship," doncha think?
