Gingrich Provides Visual Definition of Irony (video)
My my my. Me likes irony. Me likes it better when a prominent political figure demonstrates so fully the concept and me gets to point it out. Here is what Newt Gingrich said last week:
“The American people believe English should be the official language of the government. … We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto,”
Here is his “apology” to that Latino community. You spot the irony:
Seems to me that Newt needed to be a bit more “immersed” in the English language. What the hell is that ghetto trash he’s talking?
He has also said before:
In 1995, for example, he said bilingualism poses “long-term dangers to the fabric of our nation” and that “allowing bilingualism to continue to grow is very dangerous.”
Why are you demonstrating such evil that offers to destroy our native fabric Newt?
