From what are you concluding that this administration even HAS a strategy?

Besides, the Congress is a co-equal branch of the government, and just because this executive thinks it's a monarchy doesn't mean everyone else has to buy into the delusion.

What I am saying is that "not talking" may indeed be part of a comprehensive diplomatic strategy of putting pressure on Syria.

That's exactly what we did with NoKo, where we said, yeah we'll talk but only in this format. And it worked!

So yes, I'm in favor of diplomacy, but I also recognize that it comes in all forms and works best when we have one strategy and everyone sticks to it. Even when they don't agree with it...

BushCo asked Pelosi not to go? Yawn. You have GOT to be kidding me? I can't image they'd do that!

You sound like you are almost saying we should practice diplomacy more in the Middle East, which I agree. This "strategy" of isolation and calling folks the "axis of evil" has not panned out too well. The more pressure we can put on them from different directions the better. But we could do without the treasonous chitter chatter by the nattering nabobs.

The continued bashing of Pelosi is what is insanely disengenous and is what pisses me off, along with the fact that the ISG recommended these very actions while BushCo ignored them.

geez, settle down Eric ;-). But I agree there is a lot of hyperventilating going on.

yeah I trust Issa more than Nancy, but it's conditional:

1. they check with the state dept on messaging and approval for the visit.

2. They agree to be debriefed by the appropriate intelligence agencies afterwards.

If they can't get approval on number one, then they shouldn't go, period. That goes for both Pelosi and Issa. The difference is I simply think Darrell given his history is more likely to understand the bigger picture and not undercut the administration.

We do know that the administration asked Pelosi not to go, which should have ended it right there.
