Maybe he has a vested interest in keeping them in the closet. And guys? You are wimps. Women get brushed up against and have advances made on them ALL THE TIME but it's not illegal. But a guy brushes his foot against yours and bring out the police? it's pretty ridiculous. I agree that public sex should be illegal, but if you're going to make hitting on someone be illegal, make it across the board? And this generational topic fits nicely into one of my working theories: that all of the anti-gay republicans are actually gay but were restricted by social norms in the 50's and forced to marry and lead a straight life. Put him in generational perspective: even in Hollywood, Merv Griffin didn't come out of the closet! And after he died, it was still taboo to discuss - in Hollywood!
