Rush: “Phony soldiers”

Rush Limbaugh called soldiers who oppose the war - like the two young men who wrote the NY Times editorial and then ended up KIA - “phony soldiers“. This is, without a doubt, objectively worse than calling Petraeus “Betray Us”. Of course, Rush called Sen. Hagel “Senator Betray Us” back in January.

Nearly 4 in 10 soldiers feel we never should have gone to Iraq. Are those people “phony soldiers”, Rush?

How anybody can stomach listening to that trash I’ll never know. Then again, somehow Bush still has about a 30% approval rating, so…

Shhhh…can you hear that?

Be real quiet. Listen.

Hear it?

Didn’t think so. That’s the outrage from the right over Rush calling dead soldiers phony. Dead silence - pardon the pun.

I would venture to guess (don’t know) that Rush reaches as many if not more people than MoveOn.org. Let’s follow the outrage vacuum shall we?

Consistency and intellectual honesty was never part of the wingnut toolkit, however. So don’t hold your breath.

Maybe a phony special forces soldier could slip into Rush’s house silently in the night, chloroform Rush into unconsciousness and pretend to surgerically remove his arms and legs. Then he can pretend to wake Rush up and pretend to force him eat his own limbs at gun point.

Let’s pretend, Rush, let’s pretend together.

Rush, pretend you can stop thinking about who’s coming for you in the night!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

LET’S PRETEND TOGETHER, RUSH!

Rush is right again!

David - so you agree with Rush that 60% of American soldiers are “phony soldiers” because they think we should get the hell out of Iraq?

I dare you to go to Walter Reed and tell one of the kids there who has lost a leg or two in the war that because he thinks we should pull out he’s “phony”. I bet you he beats you to death with his prosthetics.

Hey Brian, I know it’s crazy, but you can cite the paragraph where Rush explicitly called 60% of American soldiers phony?

The closest I can find is where he called a specific solider, one solider, a phony. That solider was Jesse MacBeth.

Jesse MacBeth was a vet of the Iraq War. He had won the purple heart serving his tour, as a corporal in the Rangers.

Upon returning, Jesse detailed the atrocities he had seen as done by American serviceman, including torture & other atrocities.

There’s only one catch.

None of it is true.

Jess MacBeth never was a Ranger. He never went to Iraq (nor Afghanistan). In fact, he was kicked out of bootcamp after 44 days.

You’re saying he isn’t phony?
