Opponents of the state’s strip-club law filed an additional 236,000 signatures late last night in a last-minute push to qualify for the Nov. 6 ballot.
Will it be enough?
The numbers, and the odds, are against the Vote No on Issue 1 Committee.
The group opposing tighter restrictions on adult-oriented businesses needs 116,000 more valid signatures of registered voters to place a referendum on the November ballot.
That means half of the signatures submitted yesterday would have to be valid. Of the more than 383,000 names submitted Sept. 3 during the first round of signature-gathering, only one in three was valid.
GOOD LUCK!
