Blackwater Mercenaries Disarm United States Uniformed Soldiers

The colonel was furious. “Can you believe it? They actually drew their weapons on U.S. soldiers.” He was describing a 2006 car accident, in which an SUV full of Blackwater operatives had crashed into a U.S. ArmyHumvee on a street in Baghdad’s Green Zone. The colonel, who was involved in a follow-up investigation and spoke on the condition he not be named, said the Blackwater guards disarmed the U.S. Army soldiers and made them lie on the ground at gunpoint until they could disentangle the SUV.

It’s past time for Congress to shut this shit down. Jeff notes the lack of MSM coverage on this. The drive-by media accountability bloggers are notably silent.

    What I can’t figure out is this.

    How is that these troopers didn’t get back to there base camp, tell their buddies what happened, and set off a swarm of soldeirs hunting down the Blackwater Mercs?

    If the slime hadn’t hopped a flight out of the country, I’m sure they would have wished they had.

    Unreal really. I am still scratching my head over it. We outsource the military jobs to private mercenaries who then disarm same soldiers at gun point. The whole thing is as un-American as it gets. The uber-patriotic right-wing silence is deafening. I love when competing talking points (patriotism and free marketism) rub up against each other. The tension is amusing.

    I think that if these militant thugs are going to use force and their own intel; and do such shit to our own military; they should be held personally accountable. From top to bottom! Why should our troops play a second fiddle to these marauders? So much for checks and balances and the F’n Constitution with this Bush/Cheney Admin. I am livid pissed! Why are we headed (voluntarily) towards being a police state, after all we’ve gained and all of those that we’ve lost? Our grandparents are ashamed that they’ve fought, and lost so many, against such tyranny only to have our own country revert to it.
