The law in Ohio is clear: You CAN NOT use deadly force to protect your property.

Like I said- I’m not against concealed carry permits- but if you are going to carry a gun then YOU NEED TO KNOW THE LAW.

And the law, even in Texas, does not allow you to shoot someone in a public place for stealing your bike or backpack or whatever.

Castle Doctrine-based laws still don’t give you the right to shoot someone in the middle of campus. They only apply to your home (or maybe your office or car).

He should have stated criminals or attackers. In Texas, justifiable deadly force can be used to protect property if it is after dark and if you are in FEAR OF YOUR LIFE. The CASTLE DOCTRINE LAW DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO RETREAT.

Yeah, you’re right, his logic is flawed… I mean, thieves never have killed or caused bodily harm to anyone they rob.

Great job picking apart vocabulary. While he may be wrong in thinking that guns will defend him from thieves, you fail to mention any flaw in his logic - primarily because there is none.
Replace the word “thieves” with “criminals”.
