Kucinich Out of the Iowa Debate

The Hill is reporting that The Des Moines Register will exclude Dennis Kucinich from the Democratic debate they are sponsoring in Iowa this week.

The paper supposedly told the Kucinich campaign that “a person working out of his home did not meet our criteria for a campaign office and full-time paid staff in Iowa”. The Kucinch campaign called the decision “arbitrary and unreasonable”- and they are probably right.

But it does seem like it’s about time to start thinning the field- and that usually starts at the bottom- which is exactly where Kucinich is and has been since the begining.

The latest Rasmussen Poll for Iowa shows that only 2% of likely caucus participants favor Dennis Kucinich- slightly more than the 1% who support Chris Dodd but well below the double-digit numbers of the top-tier candidates.

I like Dennis- I really do- but I think this maybe be a sign that it’s time to shut down the presidential campaign and start focusing on something he can actually achieve.
