WorldNetDaily: No Class and Proud of It
The wingnuts over at WorldNetDaily constantly amaze me with their complete lack of class - especially when it comes to their unapologetic hatred of anything and everything related homosexuality.
In their latest attack, WorldNetDaily trys to scare readers into believing that California’s SB 777 (Student Civil Rights Act) is going to turn all of California’s public […]
Accidental gun deaths, intentional gun deaths, and gun control
Seen in today’s online edition of The Lantern:
POLAND, OHIO - Ohio State freshman Marissa Plakosh was shot and killed in her Youngstown-area home when she was on holiday break at about 5:50 a.m. Saturday, December 15.
The victim, her brother and a family friend were seated in the same room when the friend was handling a […]
Andy Griffith explains the 4th Amendment to Opie
Ah, the innocence of the mid-60’s. It’s too bad nobody in the current administration ever watched The Andy Griffith Show.
Health Savings Accounts For The Poor?
The Buckeye Institute is pushing something called “Personal Wellness and Responsibility Accounts” - which are basically health savings accounts for really poor people.
It goes something like this: “eligible residents” (aka poor people) take 5% of their income and put it into a health savings account- which they use to pay for basic medical expenses. […]
Who’s Afraid of Huckabee?
Mike Huckabee has been surging in the polls lately.
If you read last week’s NY Times piece about Huckabee then you might actually believe the guy has a chance. With a good showing in Iowa and a LOT more fundraising of course.
Honestly, I never really thought Mike had any chance of winning the […]
YouTube Tuesdays - Always Wear Your Helmet!
I admit it - I blew beer out of my nose the first time I saw #3. I’m a bad, bad person.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s attack on Christmas
And you think liberals are mounting a War on Christmas? Watch this monstrosity… if you dare. It’s bad enough to make you want to drown yourself in the eggnog bowl. After stopping the bleeding from your ears, first.
So, what’s a bigger attack on Christmas? Desiring that government not meddle with it […]
For-Profit Charter School Goes Public
K12, a for-profit charter school company based in Virginia, operates the Ohio Virtual Academy (OVA) in Ohio. OVA is a virtual, online charter school that enrolled 3,408 students in the 2006-2007 school year.
Last week K12 held an initial public offering of its stock.
Does this sounds totally crazy to anyone else???
The education of our state’s […]
It Could Be Worse- You Could Live In Connecticut
Whine all you want about the crazy crap we have come to expect from Representative Dennis Kucinich but remember- it could be A LOT worse.
You could live in CT and be stuck with Joe Lieberman as your Senator for the next 5 years.
As least with Dennis we get behavior that is TOO Democratic- too liberal.
With […]
PB Late Night Theater: Pint Size DJs
OK, so this isn’t exactly what you traditionally see here. But it’s still worth sharing.
Everybody loves Huck!
Did you know gay sex is a relatively new phenomenon in human history? Mike Huckabee sets the record straight.
The governor regards 1968 as the dawning of ‘‘the age of the birth-control pill, free love, gay sex, the drug culture and reckless disregard for standards.’’
Apparently the Greeks and Romans didn’t have widespread gay sex. […]
The unhinged insanity of Michael Savage
From MediaMatters:
You know, the Gore-leone crime family is now the number one crime family in the world, when you think about it. He’s about to pull off the biggest scam in the history of the world. It’s bigger than any bank heist, bigger than any drug deal. It’s bigger than any counterfeiting scheme, and he’s […]
Not All Bad News For Marc Dann
Finally we get some positive news coming out of the Attorney General’s office…
Yesterday Marc Dann officially unveiled AG4OHIO- “a new consumer-complaint Web site and telephone system combining previously separate hot lines and providing easier access to Ohioans.”
According to Dann it used to take 38 days to process and resolve consumer claims. With the […]
Another Anti-Choice Bill Passes House
I’m really not surprised that the ridiculous ultrasound/abortion bill actually passed in the Republican-controlled House yesterday.
But I am shocked that it received so much support from the Dems.
The bill, sponsored by Republican Shannon Jones, forces doctors to:
(A) Provide the pregnant woman receiving the abortion the opportunity to view the active ultrasound image of the embryo […]
Vote Phil Burress For Grinch of the Year
ProgressOhio is taking votes for Ohio’s Grinch of the Year- so head over and cast your vote.
My personal choice is Phil Burress- a guy with all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile…
PHIL BURRESS: A number of nominations poured in for Citizens For Community Values leader and self-admitted porn-addict Phil Burress for his anti-porn […]
