Maybe McCain Just Can’t Remember?
Since John McCain has been in the Middle East he has twice tried to link Iran - a country of Shiites - with al Qaeda in Iraq - a Sunni terrorist group.
In case you’ve been asleep for the past few years: the Sunnis and Shiites don’t really like each other.
Anyway- DNC Communications Director Karen Finney quickly responded to McCain’s misstatements saying “Either John McCain is purposely playing politics with the facts on the ground or he doesn’t understand the threat facing Iraq and our brave troops.”
But I think there may be a third option that Karen has overlooked: John McCain is REALLY old and can’t remember his talking points.
