PlunderPool 2008: Beginner’s Luck

Well, last night’s incredible national championship game put an end to the tournament and also an end to the first PlunderPool. The final results show beginner’s luck not only works in poker, but picking tournament brackets as well. Congrats to Joe who won the first annual PlunderPool. His prize will be delivered via special courier.

1 - Joseph - 78 points
2 - Jason S. - 75 points (provisional)
2a - Eric (2) - 75 points
3 - Scott Bakalar - 74 points
4 - GoHeelsGo - 73 points
5 - Jerid Kurtz - 68 points
6 - Eric (1) - 67 points
7 - Paul Ackerman - 56 points
8 - Anonymous - 56 points
9 - Jason S. - 52 points

I did, however, end up with my best bracket ever in another pool:

Plunderchat:

Remember how I said that Track-a-Bracket wouldn’t let me enter two brackets? You fixed it, but it was too late for me. This is the bracket I created in addition to the last-place bracket, but couldn’t enter in the pool:

It scores out at 75 points and beats Eric2 in the tiebreaker (18).

Congrats to Joseph, who beat us all regardless.

My bad there. The inaugural year was not run as well as I’d have liked. Will be better next time! Your score is duly noted!

I hope you know that I’m more amused than anything. That 52 was probably the more impressive work.

BTW, I’ve signed on with C2B after reading about it here, so you’ll be getting 30% of the pennies per month I generate.

@4: LOL. Yeah, it’s all good. Won’t be so thrown together next year.

Nice on C2B. We like pennies.
