Why is the RNC Afraid of the New Anti-McCain Ad?

The RNC is really worried about the DNC’s new anti-McCain ad. So much so that they are threatening legal action…

“As a legal matter,” RNC chairman Mike Duncan said today, this is a “maliciously false” campaign ad. “The advertisement in question falsely and maliciously” quotes Sen. McCain as saying that extending the war in Iraq […]

44 US Troops Died In Iraq This Month

According to icasualties.org, April has been the worst month this year for US troop deaths in Iraq.
44 troops have been killed so far this month- the most since September 2007.
McCain has promised to keep US troops in Iraq indefinitely…

YouTube Tuesday: GTAIV Edition

GTAIV came out today, and I actually took a vacation day from work to play. Yes, I know. My wife thinks I’m nuts too.
Anyway, here’s an advert for what seems like a pretty cool Irish pub!

And a recruitment video for Liberty City’s finest.

Florida’s New Jesus License Plates

The Florida Legislature is debating adding a new license plate to the 100+ specialty plates already issued by the state.
This one, however, is special- because it’s a Christian-themed plate- the money from which will go to some Christian organizations.

Seems pretty wrong, no?
What if we had a Muslim-themed plate?

Clinton Wants One More REALLY Boring Debate

Hillary is calling for one more debate - this one following the format of the Lincoln-Douglas debates.
In case you didn’t know, the original Lincoln-Douglas debates had this format:
One person talks for AN HOUR.
Then the other person talks for AN HOUR AND A HALF.
Then the first person gets another HALF AN HOUR.
Is anyone going to watch […]

More Jesus Sightings

Jesus really is everywhere. Everywhere there is food, at least.
He’s in our Peeps. He’s in our toast.
And now- he’s showing up in our Cheetos too.

(see below for full video!)
Funny thing is- in the process of searching for a photo of the above cheesy Jesus I saw on TV- I found another one!

I […]

Ohio GOP Loses Big Donor

John H. McConnell died today.
John’s life is really the classic American story: son of a steel worker, joined the navy, went to college on the G.I. Bill, had a good idea, started a company, got rich and turned into a Republican.
He founded Worthington Industries, help start the Columbus Clippers and the Blue Jackets and, since […]

Hillary Stealing More GOP Stuff

Hillary has a new Indiana TV ad - and it’s all about gas.
In it she promises to “suspend the gas tax this summer” to “help Indiana families”.
What a great idea!
Because with gas quickly approaching $4/gallon what Indiana families really want is to save an extra 18.4 cents.
It surprises me someone didn’t come […]

Super Delegate: “You don’t get to the Super Bowl if your jersey is clean.”

Tim talks to Bob Mulholland, a California super delegate. Bob thinks this thing should go all 12 rounds and doesn’t mind the candidates getting roughed up a bit.
”I don’t think either of these candidates is prepared for the general election yet,” said Mulholland. ”You don’t get to the Super Bowl if […]

Why DRM sucks

In the never ending struggle between corporations trying to screw over consumers in pursuit of the mighty buck, and consumers trying to protect their own rights, we consumers continually lose out (mainly because our government backs “content creators” to an insane degree). Now, the thing anti-DRM advocates have been warning about has happened - […]

Misogyny Alert!

Is the above image featured in this post by Renee an example of misogyny?
…or political discourse?

Marc Dann vs RU-486

It seems like Marc Dann is in the news now more than ever.
It’s pretty easy for me to ignore the silly fake sex scandal stuff. But this story really jumped out at me today…
The Ohio Attorney General’s office tried again Wednesday to save a state law that restricts the use of a pill that […]

WKTT: We Know The Truth!

That’s one of the radio stations in the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto IV. They completely nailed the tone of right-wing talk radio, didn’t they? Very funny.
Now there is some misogyny for you! And hatred of foreigners, and liberals, and midgets, and…
(You can enjoy a brief sample of some of the other […]

Humans barely dodged extinction…

Israeli researchers have concluded that approximately 70,000 years ago humans may have narrowly dodged extinction as drought killed off all but an estimated 2,000 people (according to researchers at Stanford) scattered about sub-Saharan Africa in the pre-Stone Age.
The new study looks at the mitochondrial DNA of the Khoi and San people in South Africa which […]

So Long Jerid, Thanks for the Laughs

A bit late on this, but I’ll use the Liam excuse. I figure it’s good for another few weeks.
Our friend and PlunderAlum Jerid Kurtz is leaving BSB to take a job and focus more on law school. Honestly, I’m not sure how he wasn’t forced to do this earlier. I’ve […]
