It turns out John McCain is actually kind of funny.
In this clip from last night’s Saturday Night Live he makes fun of his age and promises to cut wasteful spending on things like gaydar jamming devices…
“I don’t know if it’s anti-gay or pro-gay or if such a device would even work. I just know that jamming gaydar is not a federal responsibility. That’s something best left to state and local governments.”

I just thought the “state’s rights” thing was funny.
Since that seems to be his default answer whenever he’s trying to move to the middle and seem reasonable.
I’ve never really liked John McCain, but at least now he’s shown he has some sense of humor.

Correction. John McCain has funny STAFF. His delivery was stiff and stodgy. I’m even betting there was a 6 hour meeting in which they had to convince him it was OK to be self effacing in order to “get the youth vote”.
I thought the “there can be only one” video was way funnier. But I did chuckle a bit.
