That much is clear. As far as Kentucky goes, it must be remembered that there are not only racists in the state (most especially in Appalachia), but there are also many who are still loyal to Bill Clinton. Same thing with West Virginia. I don't dispute the obviousness that Clinton does well in Appalachia, but must point out that it's because she's campaigning there, and Obama has largely ignored the region.
