W.A.R. for V.P.
I was going to write about this bit of news:
Ohio must include the Libertarian Party’s nominees on its ballot in November, a court has ruled, complicating Senator John McCain’s effort to win conservative votes in a hotly contested state rich in electoral votes.
But as I was reading the article, I decided to google Mr. Wayne Allyn Root, the vice presidential candidate on this Libertarian ticket. Assuming the facts on Wikipedia are correct, he is a:
* business mogul,
* television celebrity,
* TV producer,
* best-selling author, and
* professional sports handicapper (I didn’t know this was a job title!).
His initials spell ‘WAR’.
He has a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars - whatever that is.
And, Root is the author of several books, including The Zen of Gambling, The Joy of Failure!, “The King of Vegas’ Guide to Gambling”, and Millionaire Republican. He should have some interesting ideas for how to pay off the national debt.
And I thought Bob Barr was strange.
The Libertarian Party can sure pick ‘em (wonder if Root can offer any political betting tips?)

Root is actually an interesting character. I appreciate his support for and from the online gambling crowd- even if he is whackjob when it comes to the rest of his policy choices.
I wrote about him last year after he participated in a radio debate with other third-party candidates.
In my opinion, Root won that debate hands down.
It’s nice to see him still involved in the presidential race- even if it is as a vp candidate.
Hopefully he’ll draw some small but important votes away from McCain.
