It seems the industry doesn't care how they win, so long as they win. The payday lobby wants us to think that 391% APR amounts to financial freedom! 391% interest is not financial freedom. Being caught in the debt trap is not freedom! They are spending millions of dollars to dupe Ohio voters into thinking they need 391% interest. The payday lobby, Ohioans for Financial Freedom (not made up of real Ohioans as they claim), had two ads up on TV statewide. They also seem unwilling to tell voters the truth about what the referendum on House Bill 545 will accomplish: business as usual at 391% interest.
