The July Numbers are In…

The July campaign finance numbers are in …

Obama raised $51 million.

McCain only raised about half that- $27 million.

More importantly, Obama picked up 65,000 new donors- surpassing the 2 Million donor mark.

These are regular Americans who understand his message and his positions enough to contribute their hard-earned cash to a political candidate during these crappy economic times. That really says something about Obama- maybe even more than the actual amount of money raised.

McCain, on the other hand, has received ten times the contributions from CEOs than Obama- including $15,000 to McCain’s Victory PAC from Marathon Oil’s CEO Clarence Cazalot.

I’m guessing McCain is picking up these big donors because they are the only ones who will actually benefit from his tax policies.
