Ohio Terrorized by 70 MPH Winds
So my power is still out. It seems to be the same way across most of Ohio. I heard parts of Lake County were getting their power back (as of 6am) but Franklin County is still screwed. According to AEP, there are now over 300,000 customers without power in Franklin County.
So far McCain and Obama haven’t issued any statements on this act of wind terrorism. But I’m sure the McCain people are working on the press release now.
Maybe they’ll push to add The Wind to the axis of evil. Maybe call for a War on Weather. Or possibly promise to build a big wall to keep out unwanted foreign wind.
I’m sure the wind was somehow the fault of those unpatriotic, tax-raising liberal Democrats.
Speaking of Democrats, Ted Strickland just finished a news conference on the wind damage ( watch archive here. It turns out 6 people died in last night’s storms – so I guess I shouldn’t complain.
I am, however, still pissed that I couldn’t find any news about the storm on the radio last night or this morning. NPR continued with their normal schedule. Don’t get me wrong, I like the blue grass show, but when 70 MPH winds are ripping your town apart, I think that news might be worth covering.
Anyway, here’s some pictures of the damage from my neighborhood. Yes- there is a car underneath the tree in that second picture.
