Just in case you ever had the smallest doubt that Alan Keyes is a complete and total nutjob, I present to you this amazing video…

In it, Mr. Keyes claims that “the person you call ‘president’ Obama” is not really the president of the United States, and certainly not the commander-in-chief, and the military should stop obeying him.

But the best part is when the guy who is asking the questions starts laughing and Alan Keyes says “this is no laughing matter”.

FYI: It is. It really, really is.

Update: A reader rightly points out that Keyes is perpetuating [...]

About Our New Poll and Petition

On February 22, 2009 By

In case you were wondering about the silly poll to the right (where there apparently is no way to vote for anyone BUT Lee Fisher), all you need to know is here.

There is currently an effort by bloggers to get all candidates in the Senate 2010 race on the Democrat side to pledge that they will NOT seek the ODP endorsement. Read about that and sign the petition here.

Fun fun!

This is an interesting thought experiment. What if NOBODY sought the ODP endorsement for Senate in 2010? ModernEsquire calls on each candidate in the race and those who may enter to NOT seek the endorsement so that Chairmain Redfern can keep his pledge to remain neutral. Modern also echoes this at Ohio Daily. Tim @bloggerinterrupted chimes in as well.

We at Plunderbund thought we’d add another twist. What does the blogosphere think about the pledge? Should the candidates take one in order to help ODP and Redfern remain neutral? Let your voice be heard in our [...]

The conservative hack group American Issues Project has a new hilarious ad out that is set to run on cable starting tomorrow. Guess how much they are going to spend on it? You guessed it. A million dollars!

If you recognize the voice, it’s the same one in this AIP smear ad that attempted to defeat Obama at the 11th hour in the 2008 Presidential Race:

Neither one worked. That they are able to weave Jesus into their opposition of the stimulus is just…well…hilarious!

Word on the street: State Representative Tyrone Yates is going to jump into the already crowded race for Voinovich’s Senate seat.

The fact that his website says “coming soon” leads me to believe the rumor is true.

That means we have two African American candidates (Yates and Lawson Jones) and two candidates from Northeast Ohio (Fisher and Lawson Jones) but only one female candidate from Central Ohio.

Sounds like pretty great news for Jennifer Brunner.

A Gallup poll taken from Feb 9th thru the 12th shows the third largest jump in congressional approval since Dubya took office in 2001 – and the highest approval in 2 years.

The largest spike in approval came, unsurprisingly, after 9/11. The next largest came when Democrats took control of Congress in Jan 2007. Support waned – probably because that Congress was absolutely spineless – but the third largest jump in approval ratings came as Congress was working on the popular stimulus plan.

Not surprisingly, much of the increase comes from a dramatic jump in the opinion of [...]

It turns out California isn’t he only state with an actor at the helm.

The governors thespians running Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alaska, South Carolina and Idaho all seem to have extensive experience acting like extreme fiscal conservatives.

Instead of embracing the recently passed stimulus package and the money and jobs it could bring to their states, all of these governors have threatened to decline the money and plunge their states deeper into economic crisis.

The problem with this is, not one of the governors is serious. It’s all a big show. A big act. They say they don’t want [...]

I know Brian already wrote about this, but I thought I’d add my take on it…

When Fox News interviews the teenager daughter of popular conservative Republican no one expects to hear any difficult questions or any questions about ‘touchy’ subjects.

And, for the most part, Greta Van Susteren’s interview of Bristol Palin pretty much met those expectations – with the exception of one question about why Bristol didn’t use contraception when she had sex with her boyfriend: “Is that something that you were just lazy about or not interested, or do you have philosophical or religious opposition to [...]

Jennifer Brunner Call

On February 17, 2009 By

Just hopped on a blogger call with JB. Basically she’s OHIO through and through, has experience, raised 3 kids and 3 foster kids.

Brunner has no comment on Fisher’s announcement at 6 and playing catch up. Lee told her earlier today that it’d be a couple days

Brunner decided more than a month ago to run. Talked to Emily’s List. Officially filed with FEC. Taking money already

Emily’s List has been a big help. Looks forward to working with them.

Will not step down from SOS role as election gets closer.

Focusing hard on funding out of [...]
