I struggle for anything to add to this. The latest WorldNetDaily (which translates in the ancient Hebrew as “crazy ass motherfuckers”) exclusive:

Did Jesus actually reveal name of the ‘antichrist’?
Viral video makes Hebrew word connection to latest White House occupant

You better believe this is a WND “Exclusive”. I suppose I could report that bats just flew out of my ass and label it a Plunderbund Exclusive.

You simply can’t even IMAGINE this shit if it wasn’t right there in all it’s wingnut glory. Hell, this is making me doubt the nutloonery of the Birthers even! ROFL. Damn…

The movie has a prominent disclaimer stressing the film does not declare “BHO” [Barack Hussein Obama] to be the antichrist, but is merely pointing out the Hebrew words and their “striking” correlations to Jesus’ statement.

What? We’re not calling him the antichrist, but look at these dots we’ve connected that appear to indicate he could be, in fact, the ANTI-CHRIST!

Look out Birthers. The Anti-Christers just upped the ante on crazy!

via BI:

Enjoy your Birther base, assholes.

Among Republicans only, 42% think he’s an American citizen, 28% do not, and 30% are not sure.

All your base are belong to you!

The idiots were once useful…and so damned clingy!

So let’s review. 28% of all GOPers are Birthers. Another 30% are not yet decided. That’s a pretty hefty part of your base, there. That sucks.

Update:

Another thing to point out is that Birtherism is heavily concentrated in the South. Only 47% of Southerners say Obama was born in the United States, 23% say he was not, and 30% aren’t sure.

Had to elevate this find from a link in comments:

One of the truly amazing and depressing things about the health reform debate is the persistence of fear-mongering over “socialized medicine” even though we already have a system in which the government pays substantially more medical bills (47% of the total) than the private insurance industry (35%).

Hello? Anyone home America?

medicare

44 years ago today Medicare was signed into law by President Johnson with President Truman looking on. Johnson signed Truman’s original application form as a witness and called him “the real daddy of Medicare”. The irony is that the same old voices that tried to scare America into not making Medicare a reality are doing the same with universal health care. Same. Exact. Playbook.

By all accounts Medicare has been an overwhelmingly popular program with the American people. As Barack Obama hilariously noted this week, many people say to him “I don’t want socialized health care!…but don’t you dare touch my Medicare!”. That sounds like something coming out of Sarah Palin’s Amurica doesn’t it? The American people also want healthcare reform this year. It’s pretty clear.

And so on this 44th anniversary the irony is that the same old conservative scare tactics and fear mongering is hard at work. Ronald Reagan sowed the seeds of his conservative icon status on this fear and loathing. Ronnie lent his voice to the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign against “Socialized Medicine”:

Ronald Reagan: “[I]f you don’t [stop Medicare] and I don’t do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.” [1961]

Are we Socialists yet? Are we telling stories about what it once was like to live in America where men were free? How did Ron Reagan’s arguments work out? What GOP leader is ready to repeal Medicare?

So Happy Anniversary Medicare! We’ll keep the bastards at bay!

justin_barrettUm…speaking of an inability to show self awareness:

BOSTON — A Boston police officer who was suspended for using a racial slur to describe black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., apologized for his comments but declared he is not a racist.

…”It was a poor choice of words. I did not mean to offend anyone,” he told the station.

“I am not a racist, I never have been, never will be. I treat people with dignity and respect every time,” he added.

Dude. I’m pretty sure referring to a black person as a “banana eating jungle monkey” is just a wee bit racist. No, sorry. It’s completely and totally racist!

His pathetic excuse?

“The words were being used to characterize behavior, not describe anyone,” Barrett told WCVB-TV.

Please. I’m sure you call all your stupid white friends jungle monkeys! I thought Glenn Beck might win this week’s complete fucking idiot award, but I give that to you Justin Barrett.

Kevin Holtsberry is upset. He thinks it unfair that I called Portman out on his new website and “Green Partyization” of it and his logo. He thinks instead that it’s all pretty innocent:

I suppose it is too much to believe that perhaps Portman simply wanted a website that looked different than your standard out of the box reb, white and blue site. That the point of the redesign was to bring more interactive features and social networking rather than hidden messages about identity and policy.

(You think “reb, white, and blue” was a Freudian slip.? Heh.)

Is that what you suppose, Kevin? How cute. How long have you been in politics? To think a candidate and his team don’t consider the implications of design, color, and logo is pretty damned naive. Modern day politics is very much akin to modern day marketing. See the recent Presidential election and Obama team success with design and the parallel failures of the McCain team. Anyone remember the “black website”?

But of course! Rob just wanted to simply look a bit different and add some interactivity and social media! I’ll agree he wants to look different, but I cite reasons why he might. Very obvious reasons. I love that you shill. Don’t mind that you shill. But if you’re gonna shill and come after me you better damned well have both barrels loaded and come correct.

Rob Portman just wanted something a little different. OF COURSE! How could I have missed that innocuous fact!?

LOL. What’s detached from reality – political anyway – is this type of sycophant non-analysis, Kevin. There’s a cluetrain comin’. Buy the ticket. Take the ride.

The difference between Kevin’s post and mine is that I cited actual evidence for my arguments. Kevin just whines. Somebody call the Wahmbulance!

Plunderbund was the first to out the author of Third Base Politics, a blog that has been pretending to be an “Ohio blog” since last year. Modern at BSB goes one further and uncovers that Jon Keeling is actually an ex-staffer of both Tiberi and Kasich.

He lives in the DC area (Arlington, VA). We’re familiar with that in Ohio. DC hacks entering the fray pretending to be Ohioan. We call it astroturfing. It’s fake. It’s dishonest. It’s going to get figured out and blogged.

So late welcome to the fray Jon Keeling. Welcome to OUR blogosphere. I’ve got a feeling this won’t be the end of what we hear about Jon Keeling.

So I get a Facebook group invitation from Jordan Smith today. I get tons of those and ignore most, but this one caught my eye: “How about this: Brunner for the Ohio 12th Congressional District!”

Huh? LOL. Where have we seen this argument before. I KNOW! Paul Hackett. Don’t run for Senate Paul. Just be happy to run for that little Congressional job. There is someone else and it’s “their turn”.

Shit gets so old.

So the argument is that both candidates are great and all, but Jennifer should just settle for running for a Congressional seat because Lee has more money. Nevermind it’s a Congressional seat that Democrats have shown ZERO ability to win regardless of candidate or money.

Asking Jennifer Brunner to run in OH12 is the political equivalent of sending her to an outpost in Siberia. It’s a Democrat no man’s land. It’s insulting to even suggest. The last candidate without money lost. The last candidate WITH money lost. The district may be changing, but it isn’t at all a prime pickup opportunity by any means. Basically this group and Jordan are telling Jennifer Brunner:

GO AWAY!

Jordan’s analysis is pathetic:

All Democratic candidates who ran against Tiber in the past decadei had good ideas and intentions. But only two times were those Democrats well funded, there is no reason a well funded, well organized campaign, the kind that Brunner would put together in 2010 couldn’t put this race in play again.

Emphasis added. Guess what the two “well funded” candidates have in common? THEY LOST! Does he live in the district? Has he ever tried to get a Congressional candidate elected in the district? I have. It’s the uphilliest of uphill challenges. It will take a bigger demographic shift in the district and I’d guess it is years off. Sure Tiberi is a patsy non-leader type who is a shill for any wingnut breeze that blows his way. The fact is though that the guy has terrific constituent services and connects with district voters. Incumbents like that are hard to unseat. Hell, Pat has even replied directly to me on occasion – probably knowing full well I’m not a friendly.

So what do I think of drafting Jennifer Brunner to run in the 12th?

Dumbest.

Idea.

Ever.
