In case I haven’t mentioned it in awhile, I’m a data junkie. And Jennifer Brunner’s office just made my day by announcing a new website called Better Lives, Better Ohio that allows you to search through all kinds of information about Ohio. Everything from economic data to public safety data.
Here’s what I found in the first 10 minutes of searching:
Fayette and Vinton counties had the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the state. Nearly 10% of girls between 15 and 19 got pregnant in 2006. Delaware county was the lowest with about 3%.
21.27% of the people in Fayette County have less than a high school education compared to 7.15% of people in Delaware county.
And in case you wondered: Delaware is 94% white while Fayette is almost 96% white.
