Give Me Irony or Give Me Death

On August 18, 2009 By

The guy who photoshopped the Obama Joker Time magazine cover and had it ripped off to create a Socialism poster that has been used by the wingnut base is…

…um…

A Kucinich supporter!

ROFL. Can’t make shit like that up if you tried!

Update: Yes, the same Dennis Kucinich who took a pledge to vote against any HC bill that did not include a robust public option. Love me some irony!

I was pretty sure that after President Obama answered questions about health care reform from every nutjob in the audience at today’s town hall meeting in Colorado people, especially those in attendance at the event, would finally understand what The President is trying accomplish and get behind him in this pursuit.

Judging by the video below, I was most certainly wrong.

In this video Debbie Schum, a self-identified “small business owner” and active member of the local Libertarian party, claims “I don’t have insurance and I don’t want insurance.” And then almost immediately adds: “I’d like to have [...]

Update: I love when we are able to actually influence change. Both dispatchers are on administrative leave (no word on paid or unpaid) pending an investigation. The words of both police chiefs is encouraging as is the North Canton Mayor David Held. I look forward to the findings of the investigation. They should have a good head start thanks to bloggers!

The net widens. Anthony again with the story:

Malachowski received the email as part of a larger email blast sent by Uniontown Police Dispatcher Holli Webb (pictured above).

While on the clock.
At the police department.

Welcome DailyKos readers! Thanks for reading and supporting our efforts in Ohio to hold these two police dispatchers accountable!

I know times are tough and many are looking for work. If you live in or around North Canton I think a police dispatcher position may be coming open soon. Anthony has the details:

OhioDaily has received the copy of a racist email message sent by a North Canton Police Dispatcher.

In the message sent to an unknown number of recipients from a North Canton Police email address ( amalachowski@northcantonpolice.org ), Dispatcher Anita Malachowski forwards the message

Update: Tim’s video in which Ralph King denounces the Hitler sign and the Latin singing Larouchies. It’s always good to see those you battle with politically online in person. I always thought Ralph was a decent guy. One I disagree with pretty strongly and one who tends to get carried away at times, but a long ago conversation with him on the phone led me to believe he was not the nuttiest of wingnuts. Still owe you $20, Ralph. We should get a beer sometime. Thanks for the [...]

Wife-cheating sex addict David Vitter offered up a resolution last week that proves he has absolutely nothing to add to the health care reform conversation except noise.

The nonsense that is Senate Resolution 243 says that “upon the establishment of, or enactment of legislation creating, a public health care plan, Members of Congress shall lose access to the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan and shall be required to enroll in the public plan.”

I wonder if the new public plan covers STD treatments? Or mental health coverage for spouses who have severe depression caused by being publicly humiliated [...]

Missed this when it happened, but it’s particularly relevant now. Bill Moyers interviews former health insurance industry executive Wendell Potter, who left the field after almost 20 years to become a health reform advocate. I saw this guy on MSNBC today and he’s a great advocate for change. Hopefully we hear more from him.

Earlier I posted about the trouble brewing for Jennifer Garrison in her bid to be the Democratic candidate for Ohio Secretary of State. The post included information on a Facebook group opposing her (now up over 200 members). The group was started by Michael Daniels and in doing some research I found an interesting video of him talking about the race. Michael is publisher of Outlook Magazine. He is also a very well respected member of the LGBT community in Ohio.

What Michael seems to be saying here is Ted Strickland and Chris Redfern’s soft support [...]
