No sooner did I write this do I get this in the inbox:

Former Ohio Attorneys General Say NO on Issue 3

COLUMBUS -- Former Ohio Attorneys General Betty Montgomery and Jim Petro are urging Ohioans to again reject a plan to bring casinos to the Buckeye State, warning that its passage will do more harm than good.

You can do better than that Modern. Seriously. I don't so much mind rhetorical excess (obviously). I would like to see some intellectual consistency though.

Joseph-

You do realize that just because the same arguments are raised in discussing two different issues doesn't INHERENTLY mean a person is a hypocrite? It could be that a person believes the reasoning is valid as applied to one issue, but not the other.

Yeah, and pro-Issue 3 says that we need to pass their amendment to "Protect Ohio's borders."

Yeah, I'm shocked to see rhetorical excess in a campaign, too. Next, I'm testing to see if water is really wet.

At least we know who is funding the initiative and why they are doing it. Do we know who is funding TruthPAC?

Obviously they have enough cash to hire Sandy Theis - and I don't think that's cheap.

It's funny because the last big thing I remember Sandy doing was working with Progress Ohio against the people who were trying to shut down strip clubs because they claimed they were bad for the community and they would bring more crime.

And now she (and PO) are using the exact same argument against bringing casinos in Ohio.
