Question for Councilwoman-elect Zimon

Friendly advice – an elected official should not have a Twitter account that is untransparent thus.

Now, I will give Jill credit for having a campaign account that isn’t blocked.

However, it does look a bit strange if you are showing your constituents one side of you in your campaign self-promotion machine, and another side that only approved portions of them can see in your personal account.  Something tells me that this whole blogger-elected-official thing is going to be a fun development to watch.

    blogs rule...twitter's screwed

Twitter - when will it die?? It is such crap.
  • probably some time just after blogs die. they're crap too.
  • I don't see the problem either. Just because you get elected to city council doesn't mean you automatically have to open up your entire personal life to everyone in the whole world. Do you also think she should turn over all of her private emails?
  • no, but the reason i noticed this is because other people on Twitter were having conversations with that closed Twitter account. if i were a constituent, this would raise questions.

How many people in Pepper Pike use Twitter BESIDES Jill? Seriously, Tim, this is a stretch.
  • Oh no! Tim's out on a limb again? LOL

I don't think Jill is the only elected official who has a personal Twitter account separate from her political one. Also, it's hasn't even been a week since she was elected and her Twitter account has been restricted (for reasons you know) for a very long time.
  • i understand all that, i'm just noting that it really doesn't look all that good. especially if others are having conversations with the closed twitter account which are visible on their own account. really odd.
