I really like this response. You are spot on that fear is not the same as racism. The way I see it, it's necessary but not sufficient to create racism.

I also agree with your cry wolf argument as well. I made this same point in the Democratic Presidential Primary as it relates to sexism.

Don't confuse fear of the other with Racism.

There's plenty of both in the Republican Party, but Martin's question directly addresses the former while only marginally coming at the latter.

Racism and bigotry are serious challenges. When we make it our fall back in too many cases, we dilute the power of the charge.
