What I can't believe is that anybody who voted for him didn't know his stance on Afghanistan. During his campaign, he made his view very clear: that we should have been devoting resources and troops to Afghanistan rather than in Iraq, where we shouldn't even have been in the first place. This decision really shouldn't be a major surprise to anyone, and in fact, like you said, sets a much shorter engagement limit than I had expected. No shit!
