I'm disturbed by your unwillingness to post my comments to two of your posts slamming Jane Hamsher.

After all your tough talk, I would have thought that you'd be willing to allow my comments through moderation and address them with counterarguments. Please allow my comment to this post and my comment to your earlier weak effort to attack Hamsher to be seen by the public, or I might just have to do it by presenting them in diaries at Daily Kos and Firedoglake.

Fortunately, I grabbed the screens showing my comments, the title of your blog, and the message that popped up showing that comments must be approved by the moderator prior to posting.

If you're too much of a coward to show readers perspectives other than your own and to address them openly, then you have zero right attacking Jane Hamsher and you need to STFU.

When Democrats disappoint so many Americans (support for the creation of a public option is far, far greater than is support for the Senate's bad joke on the American people), it “emboldens Ohio Republicans, [it] gives them solace, and [it] demoralizes Democrats. It makes it harder for the next organizing effort, and the one after that.”

Why should anyone want to help elect Democrats if those we elect aren't going to act in the best interests of the American people, if they're just going to say anything to get elected and then sell us out?

There are core Democratic Party principles that have been stepped on and thrown out with the trash during this process. I'm not talking about cutting a few deals to pass something that is worth passing. I'm talking about congressional Democrats betraying core principles in order to pass insurance regulation that doesn't create real competition and will be difficult to enforce at best.

It?s a very bad deal for the American people. And Obama is going to make a fool of himself as he tries to sell us on it at the same time that all the loopholes and giveaways that have been buried in it are uncovered.

At this point, this farce is all about incumbents not crashing and burning next year. That's so pathetic. Had Obama and Reid fought harder and more effectively, the Democratic Party would be hailed for their historic achievement. They threw it away.

They should be held accountable for their failure.

Unless they wake up, they will be.

And if you?re so concerned about depressing the base next year, then demand more action and better policy out of Obama and other Democratic Party leaders.
