So, the President of GM North America was in town today to announce that later this year GM will add a third shift at its Lordstown plant. The move will add 1,200 new jobs, with a third of those going to former laid off workers at the plant. It’ll generate $47 million in new payroll, $470k in local income taxes and $1.4 million in state income taxes.
?Adding a third shift to build Cruze is an investment with impact far beyond General Motors. It?s an investment in the long-term value of Lordstown and the prosperity of Ohio,? said [...]

THIS IS BOLD AND GENEOUS MOVE, DR TAITZ. OBAMA WILL BE REMOVED BY HUMAN RIGHTS TRIBUNAL AND WE CAN HAVE NEW ELECTION WITHIN 6 MOS. WE NEED UN TO FORCE THIS DICTATOR TO OBEY CONSTITUTION AND TO STOP HIM FROM LETTING FOREIGN INTERESTS UNDERMINE OUR GREAT NATION.
I?M PRAYING FOR YOU TO WIN THIS ULTIMATE BATTLE EVERY DAY. YOU ARE OUR LADY LIBERTY, ORLY. DON?T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE.

First, the Kasich campaign issues the web bio via e-mail asking its supporters to watch their “premier” video.
Then, Mark Naymik from the Plain Dealer notes that it misses any mention of Kasich’s eight years with Lehman Brothers (which is almost as long as he was in Congress.)
The Dayton Daily News notes that Kasich also makes no mention of his tax plan, and yet, promises revitalizing cities whose revenues would be DEVESTATED by Kasich’s tax plans.
Also, no mention of his relationship with Fox News.
So, if this video is expected to introduce Kasich to [...]
Full Story... →Finding GOP hypocrisy and political grandstanding is about as tough as finding melting snow outside today.
At first, the Dem HCR proposals were too damned long:
Now they’re too damned short:
“The White House’s ‘plan’ consists of an 11-page outline, which has not been scored by the Congressional Budget Office or posted online as legislative text. So they want to reorganize one-sixth of the United States’ economy with a document shorter than a comic book, and they’re complaining that they can’t find our plan on their own website? C’mon,”
You’ll note John says in the above video [...]

Full Story... →Answer is likely yes, it did.
The Columbus Dispatch has the story on the latest poll by Quinnipiac University on the Governor’s race, and it’s almost entirely great news.
Since November (the last Quinny poll), the race went from a dead heat to a five-point lead for Governor Strickland (44% to 39%). Despite the addition of Mary Taylor to the ticket, the Strickland-Brown ticket has a major advantage with female voters (48% to 33%).
Strickland now splits Independent voters, a key demographic.
Strickland’s improvement is across the board with both his favorability (+7 point jump) [...]
Full Story... →So Lee Fisher has raised all this money.? It’s less than 2.5 months to election day.?? Every poll has him within the margin of error or tied with Brunner.
Has anyone seen a Lee Fisher ad on TV?? I haven’t.
Full Story... →I admit I haven’t really been following the ‘other’ candidates in the Senate race but I find the story Anthony and Tim are pushing a little lacking.
Supposedly Traci Johnson’s entry into the Senate race is some kind of secret plot by the Fisher campaign to steal female votes away from Brunner in the primary.
According to Julie Carr Smyth’s article on the subject Traci Johnson registered her campaign website nearly a year ago.
I’m not saying this is proof that there isn’t some kind of conspiracy going on, but it does seem kind of unlikely that [...]
Full Story... →OK, I’m not the best Tweeter in the world, must admit.? My new campaign Twitter account, however, is now tied to my mobile phone, so I can tweet from the campaign trail.? Maybe this’ll get me to dive in a bit more…seeing only 2 followers, one of whom is a wingnut, is a bit discouraging….please follow!? First stop…tonight’s campaign meeting at Prosperity in Tremont!? As Conan O’Brien would say, that’s one tough tweet!
Full Story... →Been on a two week gauntlet of business travel, but feel I need to comment on this old story about Pat Tiberi being a stimulus hypocrite (among the parade of recent GOP stimulus hypocrites outed lately).
Pat’s my Congressman. Dude pretty much knows how to lay low, go along to get along, and is generally considered a GOP patsy kind of guy. Did it surprise me to hear that while railing against the stimulus bill Pat was also writing letters trying to score some cash for his district? Not one bit. He’ll most likely get away with it too. Voters [...]
Full Story... →I’m not sure if this is an endorsement, but a reader forwards some photos taken of Matt Naugle at the Cordray announcement last week:
I love this last shot of one wingnut standing alone.? He either farted or they figured out who he was.? LOL
You may remember that Matt was also spotted at an Obama campaign rally in Columbus a couple years ago.
I think if the GOP wants spotters on the ground that they should pick less conspicuous folks.? That meat-head is instantly recognizable.? Of course, if Matt really is starting to lean [...]
