We’ve been saying here at Plunderbund all along that people wanted Health Care Reform and even wanted reform more liberal than what the Senate stuck us with. And now that the Democrats finally grew the sack to do what their constituents wanted, we have additional confirmation that this is a popular bill.
By 49%-40% those surveyed say it was “a good thing” rather than a bad one that Congress passed the bill. Half describe their reaction in positive terms, as “enthusiastic” or “pleased,” while about four in 10 describe it in negative ways, as “disappointed” or “angry.”

Full Story... →A few months back State Senator Shannon Jones caught some flack for sending a dozen Twitter updates from the House floor during Governor Strickland’s State of the State speech.
Not only was she breaking House rules which prohibit the use of electronic devices on the floor, but she generally came off looking like a rude, disrespectful, impolite and spoiled child whining and carrying on when she should have been at least pretending to listen the Governor.

Full Story... →I just read the coverage here and in the Dispatch over Lee Fisher’s aborted attempt to seek the endorsement of the Ohio Democratic Party Executive Committee.? And I am utterly amazed at the complete inability of the Fisher campaign to turn lemons in lemonade.

In Knox County Ohio yesterday the County Democratic Party Headquarters was tagged with a warning message by what we can only assume to be the ruthless gang calling itself the Dorks.

So, while digesting my lunch I’ve had some time to digest last night’s historic vote. I’ve come to the conclusion that, like Eric, I think this was a GOP Waterloo. In fact, while some credit goes to people like Pelosi (and Obama for risking political capital by letting the process play itself out in Congress), a large amount of credit for the passage of this bill goes to Republicans; specifically to the “Party of No” strategy.
