John Kasich likes to talk about how he never forgets about working people because he’s a son of a postal carrier. And yet, not even the Dispatch can gloss over Kasich’s anti-public union rhetoric.
During a speech before Ashtabula County Republicans in March 2009, Kasich talked about the need to "break the back of organized labor in the schools," according to the Ashtabula Star Beacon. He did not back away from that quote last week, saying as he pushes ideas to change schools he has often clashed with teachers unions, who have "smeared my record and distorted it."

First he schedules a presser at one of their restaurants and then he talked about his experiences at the debate. And I’m sure, to John, the situation really did stand out for him – mainly for the novelty of situation. Not only did he willingly interact with poor people but he did it at a Bob Evans!
While I won’t say it’s impossible that John Kasich eats at Bob Evans on a regular basis (read: ever), I do find it pretty difficult to imagine John and the pretty Kasich ladies scarfing [...]

But very specificially, they’re claiming that Ohio’s economic woes are because despite 16 years of all Republican rule in the State of Ohio before Governor Strickland took office, Ohio is such a horrible taxing and regulatory environment that businesses just cannot succeed here and have been engaged in a mass migration out of the State.

Full Story... →Seriously, I would bet money that Yost shot this ad when he was still running in the GOP A.G. primary against Mike DeWine and then just redid the voiceover and add the CPA endorsements which, frankly, is easily missed in the visuals.
And I’m not alone. The Columbus Dispatch asks essentially the same thing. One of the things that the GOP thought Yost would be able to use effectively against his opponent, Hamilton County David Pepper, is the fact that Yost was a County Auditor before he was a County Prosecutor. Full Story... →What do you do if you’ve spent weeks crowing about polls showing double-digit leads nobody else believes are accurate, the Ohio Poll shows the race practically tied? Well, if you’re the Carpetblogger, you imply that the Ohio Poll has been biased in Strickland’s favor the whole time:
During that time, The Ohio Poll also joined Quinnipiac as the only poll to show Ted Strickland leading the race. The difference? Quinnipiac never had support for Strickland above 44%.
