Ohio Daily Blogger/political consultant Anthony Fossaceca apparently isn’t wasting any time. Today, he declared that he’s planning to run for the Ohio House of Representatives in a district that has yet to be drawn and a year before the primary.

Anthony’s already created his campaign website, too! No word yet on when the yard signs will be available.

What do you do if you’ve spent weeks crowing about polls showing double-digit leads nobody else believes are accurate, the Ohio Poll shows the race practically tied? Well, if you’re the Carpetblogger, you imply that the Ohio Poll has been biased in Strickland’s favor the whole time:

During that time, The Ohio Poll also joined Quinnipiac as the only poll to show Ted Strickland leading the race. The difference? Quinnipiac never had support for Strickland above 44%.

Get that? Pay no attention to the Ohio Poll, Keeling says, because it and Quinnipiac were the only polls at times when [...]

Last night, the Ohio Democratic Party fed a lot of people. Roughly as many as in 2006 when Barack Obama and Joe Biden stopped by for a bite. As many when Ohio Democrats were pumped up to make them President and Vice-President.

This was not a wake. Although the Democrats I met (some of whom I haven’t seen in years) understand that the environment is markedly different than those years, there was only one sign of defeatism that troubled me.

How did the Columbus Dispatch portray the environment (“Dems have winning attitude for Nov. 2”)?

Ok, I haven’t even seen Capitol Square yet (you can’t get ONN on DirectTV), so I have no idea what aired or how it looked.

However, you can see I was disappointed. Matt Naugle and I have been sparring over the Internet for over five years. This was our first public joint encounter, and we were asked about our LeBron tweets?

If there was ever a Republican candidate for Governor that should appeal to former head of the now defunct (I believe) Ohio Taxpayers Association Scott Pullins, at least on paper, it would be John Kasich.

And yet, while Matt Naugle bites his tongue, Pullins goes there on Kasich’s first ad introducing himself to Cincinnati and Columbus voters:

Earlier today, Jon Keeling tried to stoke anger among gun owners by hyping a story that the Ohio Democratic Party attempted to get the address of CCW permit holders likely to contact them and tell them about Democrats who support CCW issues like Governor Ted Strickland:

If there is one constituency that doesn’t like having their rights trampled upon, it’s supporters of the 2nd amendment.

And yet, that’s exactly what Strickland’s Ohio Democratic Party tried to do.

In a blog post written by a Toledo talk radio host for Fox News, John Kasich gets the worst lede imaginable:

If you were to stop folks on the street in downtown Cleveland today, you would find that most people are much more interested in the future of the Cavalier’s star forward LeBron James than in who might be Ohio’s future governor.

Brian Wilson takes about five paragraphs to then put on the usual Fox News b.s.:

Congressman John Boccieri’s Republican opponent announced that he will match dollar for dollar donations made to his campaign until tomorrow night from his “personal fortune.”

How did Jim Renacci make his fortune?

In 1985, Jim entered the healthcare industry, forming LTC Management Services, which owned and operated nursing home facilities throughout Ohio.

That’s right. Jim Renacci’s “personal fortune” came from Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Oh, and let’s not forget that Renacci’s auto dealership accepted money from “Cash for Clunkers,” too.

I’ve been trying to figure out why Matt Naugle seems to go out of his way to write such glowing posts to help Josh Mandel’s State Treasurer’s race out so much. After all, the State Treasurer isn’t an appointment board position. It’s a rather uneventful and boring job. Josh Mandel was a liberal Democrat in OSU, until he realized that he had a better shot running as a Republican to get elected to the Statehouse.

And, let’s face it, Naugle’s not the most religiously tolerant guy around, to put it nicely.
