Do you believe surrender in Iraq will increase the terror threat to America?

That’s how Ari “Mouth of Sauron” Fleischer’s new organization - Freedom’s Watch - answers their phones. They are encouraging people to call their Congressman - by calling Freedom’s Watch. If you support the war, they connect you thru to Congress, as documented in this video from Americans United for Change.

You can see Freedom’s […]

George Bush as Charlie Bucket

Yesterday:
KABUL, Afghanistan - The deadliest insurgent attack since the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 destroyed a bus full of police instructors at Kabul’s busiest transportation hub on Sunday, killing 35 people and wounding 52, officials said.
Today:

Bush and bin Laden: Notes from the Politically Tone Deaf

What’s wrong with this picture:

WHITE HOUSE (AP) - Trying to defend his war strategy, President Bush has declassified intelligence asserting that Osama bin Laden ordered a top lieutenant in early 2005 to form a terrorist cell that would conduct attacks outside Iraq, and that the U.S. should be the top target.
Renew the “why haven’t […]

Dr. Laura’s son is a heathen deviant

This post is a Matty Special, just for our friends at RABid.
It turns out that Dr. Laura’s son, who is currently deployed in Afghanistan, had a MySpace page. And what a page it was.
The soldier son of talk radio relationship counselor Laura Schlessinger is under investigation for a graphic personal Web page that one […]

How Iraq has made us less safe #6,503,105

Iraq is a huge bake sale benefiting al-Qaida.
A major CIA effort launched last year to hunt down Osama bin Laden has produced no significant leads, but has helped track an alarming increase in the movement of al-Qaida operatives and money into Pakistan’s tribal territories, according to senior U.S. intelligence officials.
In one of the most troubling […]

Iraq War = Increase in Global Terror

Mother Jones has the data. Even if you exclude real terror attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan (and why would you?), terrorism is up. Including those countries, it’s 7x what it was in 2002.
Great policy, George. The “GWOT” (or whatever they’ve rebranded it as now) has been a smashing disaster.

Support the troops, indeed

From Sunday’s Washington Post:
Behind the door of Army Spec. Jeremy Duncan’s room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. The entire […]

Van Taylor Gets “Hacked” (video)

Update: Alternet wins the headline award on this one (makes me green): Hackett manhandles GOP talking-points action figure
The question: Would you take this guy on?

The answer: Fuck no! (or that’s what Van Taylor is thinking about now)

(ht C&L)
This definately merits my “Damn son!” award of the month. The contrast is […]

Bush Hits The Sharia Wall

Old boy doin’ him some learnin’ the hard way:
WHEELING, West Virginia (CNN) — President Bush on Wednesday defended an Afghan Christian who is on trial for rejecting Islam and who could eventually face the death penalty.
“It is deeply troubling that a country we helped liberate would hold a person to account because they chose a […]

Hackett on Ed Schultz Show (audio)

Paul Hackett was on Big Eddie yesterday. I heard it while driving down to MTB in Columbus. Paul was very positive and is trying to help other IAVA candidates in their races. He was in DC raising money for the PAC. He also pounds the administration in a way only Paul […]

George’s Excellent Afghan Adventure

Greetings via wifi from Mean Bean in lovely dowtown Delaware, Ohio. After only 2 Microsoft blue screens, I’m up and running. I got to thinking last night after reading about Bush’s surprise visit to Afghanistan how much things change with time. When I was a kid hanging out on a farm in […]
