The Dispatch is reporting that the Ohio AFL-CIO wants Dann to resign…
The state’s largest union — one that endorsed him in 2006 — is calling for Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann’s ouster.
Joe Rugola, president of the 700,000-member Ohio AFL-CIO, said the union is joining the call by Gov. Ted Strickland and other top Democrats for the embattled attorney general to resign.
“The attorney general’s conduct in this entire matter, and the pattern of conduct in his office over the past months, mandates that he leave his office immediately,” Rugola said in a statement.
“It is a sad [...]
Full Story... →According to the Newark Advocate Marc Dann cancelled Thursday’s appearance at the Licking County Democratic Party’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
A spokesperson for his office said Dann’s “public schedule over the next few weeks has been restricted.”
The only comment on the story from their website:
Good. He doesn’t need to come here when he should be typing up his resignation.

“Do You Think Marc Dann should step down as attorney general?”
Full Story... →According to today’s Hannah Report, House leaders have started talking about impeachment proceedings for Marc Dann…
Reps. Jon Husted (R-Kettering), Joyce Beatty (D-Columbus) and Bill Batchelder (R-Medina) were all talking from the same playbook Tuesday when discussing the Marc Dann impeachment proceedings: it is not an overnight process; it will be precedent setting; they can’t say much so as not to prejudice the proceedings; Batchelder and two, soon-to-be-named Democrats are studying the process; and they need to know the facts and to understand the grounds on which they could proceed.
Finally! Bipartisanship!

Instant collectors’ item!
Full Story... →Dave at Progress Ohio just posted the video of Governor Strickland talking to the press about the Dann scandal.
According to Ted, he has some names in mind for Dann’s replacement- but he hasn’t officially started the process for picking someone yet.
He also says he’s ready to take ‘whatever action is necessary’ if Dann doesn’t step down.
Full Story... →The Ohio Democratic Party is so seriously committed to having Marc Dann resign that they have removed him from their website!
Not only is he gone from their list of elected officials…
but hey also removed him from their “WHAT WE’VE ACCOMPLISHED” page which used to contain this section proudly declaring that Marc Dann’s office was “Awarding Legal Contracts Based on Merit, Not Campaign Contributions”:
The worst thing about this whole scandal is that that all of the good stuff Marc Dann did accomplish – including the above mentioned fix to legal counsel contracts – will now [...]
Full Story... →As I’m sure you’ve heard the latest news by now: all of the big-name Dems in Ohio have called for Marc Dann to resign.
The letter, signed by Governor Strickland and Senator Brown and other Ohio Democrat you can think of, threatens Dann with an impeachment resolution to be sponsored by “Democratic members of the Ohio House of Representatives” if he refuses to step down.
So here’s a question: What if Marc Dann decides to stay and House Dems do introduce an impeachment resolution and then House Republicans decide not to support it?
They do have a majority and [...]
Full Story... →Vindy.com has the only opinion piece I’ve seen recently that doesn’t call for Marc Dann’s resignation.
They do admit that “he failed — spectacularly and on multiple levels” – but after that they suggest we give him a second chance…
We take Dann on his word that his work will be top-notch and, most important, that he has provided full disclosure of what went on in his office.
He knows that the eyes of the state will be on him. He knows that millions of Ohioans are not inclined to give him a second chance. He knows that [...]
Full Story... →Dann just finished taking questions about the latest scandal. (Jill live blogged the event).
He admitted to having an affair with his scheduler- Jessica Utovich- who resigned last night along with Edgar Simpson, “Dann’s top nonlegal adviser”.
Guiterrez (the creepy sex guy) and Jennings (Dann’s Communication Director) were fired today.
The AG’s office announced some additional actions they would take.
And so now we know what we knew before: Marc Dann is an ass and he made some really bad choices by hiring his friends and sleeping with his scheduler.
But he didn’t break the law and he [...]
