So, I may not be the best person to ask since I came into this debate feeling much more positive about Obama than Clinton, but if you were to ask – and I assume since you are reading my blog, you are asking – I think Obama won. For starters, he feels way more sincere than Clinton. His answers were substantive, and most importantly he didn’t seem to have to run around trying to spin old positions like Clinton has had to do repeatedly with previous statements and votes about the war and about NAFTA. (She’s come the closest I’ve [...]

Full Story... →Hillary! You got some splainin’ to do!
Last night I read a post by The Chief Source’s Kyle Kutuchief. He asks a great question: “Why Won’t Hillary Debate in Cleveland?”. He has a hunch:
It is my opinion that Hillary Clinton and her campaign are afraid of Cuyahoga County. Hillary is going to have to approach Ohio like a Republican and try to win the rural parts of the state in order to try and win. It is going to be interesting to see what location will be acceptable for Clinton to debate Obama in Ohio.
This morning I [...]
Full Story... →Just spoke with Cole Hatcher in OWU’s media and community relations department. They don’t have final confirmation of a Chelsea Clinton visit tomorrow, but they are aiming for a lunchtime visit. There is a rather large students for Obama delegation at OWU and they have been pretty active lately. If it’s lunchtime I might swing over, but no promises.
Full Story... →Just to cap off a huge weekend for the Senator and future President, Obama wins a Grammy for the audio version of “Audacity of Hope”. Add that to his sweep yesterday and his stunning upset victory in Maine today and you don’t get much more momentum than that. Let’s hope Tuesday is more good news, too!
Obama Bomaye!
Full Story... →On the heels of 3 blowout losses yesterday, the Clinton campaign sacks campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle.
Campaign spokesman Mo Elleithee said Solis Doyle was “not asked to step down” and that this has “nothing to do with the losses yesterday.” (ht FTR)
Uh huh. Right. Is this a dent in the Clinton machine? Are the wheels starting to wobble? Given the recent results and the discord here in Ohio of late between the two camps it’s clear that Ohio is becoming quite the Maginot Line for campaign Billary. They lose here and it’s over. We [...]
Full Story... →Paul Loeb at HuffPo has the commentary. What if what Obama is galvanizing in the youth vote ould cement itself into a long-term Democratic majority?
Commentators are talking, and rightly so, about how young voters are flocking to Barack Obama. Their overwhelming support gave Obama his Iowa margin, kept him just a few points behind in New Hampshire and Nevada, and contributed to his massive South Carolina victory. Young voters haven’t always turned out historically, but they’re responding to Obama’s message, and together with his equally massive support from African Americans and strong appeal to independents, their passionate [...]
Full Story... →Awesome:
Full Story... →This is a really, really, really big endorsement. Obama used it as a chance to subtly take a jab through the Senator for Massachusetts. Ted said (and no doubt was referring to Billary):
With Barack Obama, we will turn the page on the old politics of misrepresentation and distortion.
With Barack Obama, we will close the book on the old politics of race against race, gender against gender, ethnic group against ethnic group, and straight against gay.
Obama accepts and delivers a magnificent speech which his campaign will surely use as a jumping off point given the monstrous win in [...]
Full Story... →The big news, of course, is going to be that the person who started the “Bill Clinton was the first black president” meme is not endorsing his wife’s opponent:
The woman who famously labeled Bill Clinton as the “first black president” is backing Barack Obama to be the second.
That is not her focus, as expected, and I believe her. The best part of all of this is admiring her brilliance with the English language:
“In addition to keen intelligence, integrity and a rare authenticity, you exhibit something that has nothing to do with age, experience, race or gender [...]
Full Story... →Um…WOW:
So Hillary is already in Tennessee and Edwards is cracking me up with how great these results are for him. Apparently they were polling at a Kucinich level and 18% is a great bump for them. LOL. Whatever. I almost wish Wolf would have just said that: “Whatever”. Edwards is done. Speaking of Kucinich, John now sounds like he has Dennis reasons for staying in the race (ie symbolic). At least he won his home county! I like John. I really do. Wish he could get more attention than Hillary. But at some point you realize it ain’t [...]
