Stealing “Change”

I’m starting to think Barack Obama should have gotten a copyright on his message of Change.
I got a mailer today from Time Warner Cable that is a total ripoff of the Obama “Change” branding…

as a reminder:

I have this crazy feeling that “Country First” isn’t going to be a popular advertising message any time soon.

Richard Cordray’s Twin?

Netflix delivered Forgetting Sarah Marshall today. I was expecting Hell Boy 2, but hey - you take what you get I guess.
So I’m watching FSM this afternoon and every time I see that guy who plays the page on 30 Rock (Jack McBrayer) I think: Damn! He sure looks a lot like Rich […]

The only two tools you need are duct tape and WD-40…

… if it moves and it shouldn’t, use the duct tape, and if doesn’t move and it should, use the WD-40.

Summing up what this election was about…

It wasn’t about fear and loathing, like the Republicans tried to make it. It was about hope, unity, and the future. It was about this:

Sarah Palin Thinks Africa is a Country

Fox News throwing Sarah Palin under the bus. Revealing, among other things, that she doesn’t know which countries signed the NAFTA agreement and that Africa is a continent and not a country.
They also reveal that she refused to accept help preparing for the Katie Couric interview.

President-Elect Obama’s First Approval Ratings

Rasmussen is out with the first approval ratings for Barack Obama.
40% Strongly Approve and 32% Strongly Disapprove - giving him “a net rating of eight on the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Approval Index.”
Bush, on the other hand, is at 13% Strongly Approve / 49% Strongly Disapprove putting him at -36 on the Presidential Approval Index.

Anti-American liberals?

To anyone who ever said I’m “anti-American” because I’m a liberal, and thus think we could do a better job… fuck you. If you think there are “pro-America” parts of this country (implying that there are areas that are not “pro-America”)… fuck you.

DO NOT Ask Me About the Kilroy/Stivers (OH-15) Race

Two years ago I spent way too much time worrying about the race for Ohio’s 15th congressional district (where I live). The race between Mary Jo Kilroy and Deb Pryce became pretty nasty and the results were amazingly close.
And even though we were winning back important State-wide offices that year, I wanted a Democrat […]

Political Capital

In 2004 Bush was proud to have actually won the popular vote (62,028,285 - 59,028,109) and the election with an EV margin of 35 (286 - 251). He arrogantly proclaimed that he had earned “political capital” and intended to spend it. Boy did he.
For the math savants that’s a 3,000,176 vote […]

Putting Palin Out to Pasture

It doesn’t look like they want her back. If you were wondering who the campaign blames for the McCain loss, take one look at this:

That’s gotta hurt…

I Hope the U.S. Barack Obama Coins Look Better

Andrew Sullivan just posted a picture of a new Obama coin being made by some company in England.

Now I’ll admit I’ve never created a coin before. So it may be way more difficult than I imagine. But it seems to me that if these guys make coins for a living, they should be […]

OMG

McCain Aide: Palin Family a Bunch of “Wasilla Hillbillies”

Newsweek latest special election project article includes a section about the latest news on Sarah Palin’s uncontrollable spending on clothes.
It turns out Sarah was specifically told to hire a stylist and buy three suits - but instead “she spent ‘tens of thousands’ more than the reported $150,000″ on clothes for her and her family incuding […]

Hell Yeah!

Good Morning

Good Morning. Barack HUSSEIN Obama is the President of the United States of America.
Let that sink in fully. The implications are enormous and, despite what disappointed righty bloggers might say, overwhelmingly in a positive manner.
