DENVER (CBS4) ― CBS4 has now learned at least four people are under arrest in connection with a possible plot to kill Barack Obama at his Thursday night acceptance speech in Denver. All are being held on either drug or weapons charges.
One of the guys “was wearing a ring with a swastika, and is thought to have ties to white supremacist organizations.”
If you are not doing everything you can to talk down the whispers of hate speech and racist undercurrents in this election, then you will be partly responsible if anything happens to the first black man nominated to run for President of the United States.
Don’t ignore it, don’t support it, and certainly don’t condone it.

MIAMI (AP) — A man who authorities said was keeping weapons and military-style gear in his hotel room and car appeared in court Thursday on charges he threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Raymond Hunter Geisel, 22, was arrested by the Secret Service on Saturday in Miami and was ordered held at Miami’s downtown detention center without bail Thursday by a federal magistrate.
A Secret Service affidavit charges that Geisel made the threat during a training class for bail bondsmen in Miami in late July. According to someone else in the 48-member class, Geisel allegedly referred to Obama with a racial epithet and continued, “If he gets elected, I’ll assassinate him myself.”
When a wingnut photographer is allowed to enter the press area with a “good shot” at the Presidential candidate and clearly disrupts the event in an anti-Obama screed, things need to get much, much better from a security standpoint. Hopefully this will spur that on.
It was envisioned. It was contemplated. Then it was written down.
I completely understand controversial and catchy headlines – being a fan of them myself – but this seems to cross a line even with me. I understand the point that Tim is trying to make and it’s no secret he and I are friends and I think he does some of the best stuff around when he’s on.
But it made me sad that he decided to go here. To take what you and I once railed against even for hinting at and turn it into a headline for a post of your own doesn’t sit right with me. There are other ways to make your point and the rest of the post is really very good despite the headline. People will still read it. I’ll still link to it. You’ll still get your point across.
We do all have to be more diligent in calling this shit out and banging away on those who would whisper and insinuate. Whether it be blogger, campaign, surrogate, or candidate, the bigotry and passive racism being whispered and winked is something that we must be diligent about. I don’t really think calling out a big group of bloggers on the left is fair either. We all decide for various reasons what we think is important enough to blog on and that’s an individual decision. We’ve been down this road of “why didn’t you think this important enough to post on” and it always ends badly.
I have no problem with you making your point about the toxic nature of the narrative building on the right.
There. I said it. Don’t look for me to apologize for it either. It won’t happen. I think she just crossed my threshold of whether or not I’d support her in anything ever again. I don’t want her as VP. I don’t want her as a Senator. I don’t want her cleaning out the lint trap in my shower.

Her latest reason for staying in a race that she has zero hope of winning and which continues to divide Democrats and give cover to those who would cut off their nose to spite their feminist faces is that Barack Obama might be assassinated in June. Bobby Kennedy was. Her husband didn’t end it until June. She doesn’t understand it.
