Unity! See it live.

Hillary really is doing a fantastic job.

In case there were any feminist outliers who wanted to think about voting for John McCain over Barack Obama due to perceived treatment of Hillary Clinton:

Clayton Williams is a prominent person in Texas politics. Prominent enough to secure the GOP gubernatorial election in 1990. During this election campaign he said various things that decent people find abhorrent, such as joking about rape that “As long as it’s inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it.” These remarks were publicized in Texas and perhaps played a role in Williams’ 1990 loss. But this is a big country, and [...]

Today is the day. After some tough talk from some trusted friends, Hillary has finally decided to read the handwriting that has been on the wall for months. She will suspend her campaign and throw her support behind the presumptive nominee Barack Obama.

About time. I’m an Obama supporter and have been for a long time now, but I say the following as someone who wants real change from the Republican nightmare that got me blogging in the first place. Here is what I want to hear from Hillary:

She should rally her supporters and thank them for their [...]

Update: Check that. Saturday.

First reported by ABC News. This by NYT:
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is moving to suspend her campaign and endorse Senator Barack Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee, probably on Friday, according to a senior adviser to Mrs. Clinton.

I didn’t hit submit because I won’t sign up for her attempt at bolstering her list. I will, though, share with you my message for Hillary that I would have left at Hillary Clinton dot com:

Don’t go away mad. Just go away.

WTF Clinton?

On June 3, 2008 By

So wtf with that speech? She floats a VP story today then doesn’t concede when it is clear Obama clinched enough delegates to win the nomination? She doesn’t really want a VP slot. So what DOES Hillary want?

Her speech was far from something that I’d think would settle her folks down and get them on the O-train.

Obama is being very gracious in his speech right now and is doing his part to bring them aboard, but as I’ve said ad nauseum at this point: the only person who really can do that is Hillary. She didn’t step [...]

A new piece in The New Republic by Michelle Cottle offers a glimpse into what went wrong with Hillary’s campaign.

Bottom line: I just don’t think she was hungry enough for it in the beginning. It wasn’t really until the ten-in-a-row loss that she started doing stuff like ‘Saturday Night Live’ and Jon Stewart. In the beginning, it was hard to get her to do those things.”

i think it was 11 in a row, but whatever. There are many more examples given by those in the know. Some we knew and others that were a bit surprising. [...]

There. I said it. Don’t look for me to apologize for it either. It won’t happen. I think she just crossed my threshold of whether or not I’d support her in anything ever again. I don’t want her as VP. I don’t want her as a Senator. I don’t want her cleaning out the lint trap in my shower.

I’m fucking done with you, Hillary. You fucking bitch.

Her latest reason for staying in a race that she has zero hope of winning and which continues to divide Democrats and give cover to those who would cut off [...]

I don’t think it can be said much better than this:

You know where I’m going, for you know where she went. Hillary Clinton complained again this week that sexism has been a major dynamic in her unsuccessful bid for political dominance. She is quoted by the Washington Post’s Lois Romano decrying the “sexist” treatment she received during the campaign, and the “incredible vitriol that has been engendered” by those who are “nothing but misogynists.” The New York Times reported she told sympathetic bloggers in a conference call that she is saddened by the “mean-spiritedness and terrible insults” that [...]

This one made me laugh. Very interesting comment left on this post by Tim Russo. It is a very unique argument that I had not heard before so it struck me as something we all might want to talk about. Here is the comment:

i think hillary is too butch and therefore people will think she’s a lesbian, and that’s why she’s losing the nomination. just check out the pant suits!

I must say this kind of thinking is strange to me because I don’t tend to judge people by what they wear or try to git [...]
